The end is coming for Warcraft gold guides. Soon the idea of reading from a PDF document while playing the game will seem as daft as boiling your shoes. They have served a purpose, now they need to make way for something better.

It can't just be me. The idea of reading a PDF document while trying to enjoy a game is not what I'm after. It seems so old fashioned. Wiping mobs one minute, then clicking off screen to see where a particular node is to farm the next. Maybe running a two line macro you cut and pasted at the auction house. That's not what I want or expect when someone tells me they have a "gold making system".

Even the name "guide" is a bit disappointing. It's not really what you want is it. If you were on safari a guide will be helpful, telling you where to go and what to avoid, but you are still left to do the hard yards.

Now I'm not knocking guides. They have played their role in the Warcraft economy, but their days are numbered. They really don't cut it any more.

Then there are the guides that call themselves "systems". Have you seen these? A system is a procedure you follow, using tools provided to achieve a result. Ok, fine, well the system in these guides seems to be;

1 - Follow the guide.

2 - What are you doing here? Get back to the guide!

Yes I know a couple add macro code you can cut and paste. WoW amazing. Like that would have taken you all of five minutes to work out yourself. Ok, I'm being a little harsh. macro code for buying and selling can seem a little intimidating to none coders, but it really is very simple.

The auctioneer addon for example has its own website and even its own Wiki. I've bought every Warcraft gold guide I can find on the net and I've never seen anything in any of them that isn't vastly inferior to the free information that Norganna.org give you for free.

Macros? Ok go to Wowwiki. They have hundreds of cut and paste macros covering every aspect of play. You copy, then (guess what) you paste. And, well that's it. Job done. Auction house macros are all there, they are all free. You bought a guide for auction house domination? Man you must feel sick. That's all free information you just paid for.

What would be nice is a system that you press a couple of buttons, and it rips the economics of your server apart.

Legal, safe and totally conforming to Blizzards terms and conditions. So simple a child could do it.

No grinding, no farming, no messing. A 5 minute install, then a system that doesn't just guide you, it does all the work for you.
